Deep Green Resistance Orlando will be showing the Oscar nominated film “If a Tree Falls” as part of our ongoing resistance movement education. This film chronicles the rise and fall of one of the core cells of the Earth Liberation Front, an organization that practiced direct action tactics in combating environmental degradation. The film focuses on one of the key members of ELF, Daniel McGowan’s, arrest and subsequent conviction under the classification as “terrorist,” although he, nor any other member of ELF harmed any living thing in the history of the movement.
